Around 100 swimmers of all ages braved the wind and rain to plunge into the old-established, traditional Boxing Day dip at Small Hope Beach.  Organised for the fourth year running by The Salix Beach Cafe, it raised a total of £450 for the local Independent Lifeboat service, which attended and supported the event.

A week later, and swimmers headed back into the waves for the New Year’s Day Charity swim from The Salix – raising over £2,000 for the Wessex Cancer Trust.  The lively Pirate-themed event provided fun for all the family, swimmers and non-swimmers alike, with mulled wine, mince pies and music by DJ Steppin’ Out Boogie Bus all on the menu.
