Are you aged 14-17, enjoy adventure and being outdoors? Would you like to learn more about working in watersports or the yachting industry? If so, the UKSA Sea.Change Foundation Programme could be just the thing for you. There’s no need for any special knowledge or experience, you just have to be excited about learning something new and meeting lots of like-minded people.

The five-day Sea.Change programme introduces students to a wide range of fun activities including paddle-boarding and dinghy sailing, power boating and yachting. These sports might be totally new to you, but that’s not a problem as UKSA’s experienced instructors will be there to support you every step of the way.

One Sea.Change Foundation student, Charlotte, says: “Before the course I thought I would have to go to university to start a career within the maritime industry. I have now learnt that I can come to UKSA straight after my GCSE’s and do a wide range of courses.”

“I gained a lot more confidence coming here” confirmed Sea.Change student Luke. “There were some people who I didn’t know, I was pushed to make friends with them and we got on really well!

Coming here if you challenge yourself, if you volunteer to help out with things, you learn a lot about your skills and what you’re capable of.”

As a special offer for all Isle of Wight residents, 50% of course fees will be funded, which means Island students pay only £225 for the five-day course including food and accommodation. And if this price is still a barrier, there are additional funding options available. Would-be students or their parent/guardian who receive any financial support from the Government, such as Free School Meals, Pupil Premium or Universal Credit, are eligible for a fully funded space.

The half price offer to IoW residents is for the Easter holidays, April 3-7 2023 and subject to availability.

Spaces are limited and will be offered on a first come, first served basis. To book or find out more contact schools@uksa.org or call 01983 203045.
