Animal lovers will be able to catch up with some of their favourite characters at the Island’s award-winning Monkey Haven this Winter, for a special seasonal entry price of £8.
The primate rescue centre and sanctuary just outside Newport is open every day from 10am – 3pm, weather permitting, and visitors can enjoy meeting owls, snakes, mischievous meerkats and a whole host of monkeys and gibbons at the award-winning keeper talks.
The lovely tea room and gift shop is free to enter and offers some great gift ideas, including animal adoptions, annual memberships and ‘keeper for the day’ experiences, plus cute cuddly toys, palm oil-free hampers and lots of stocking fillers. As a charity, the Haven uses all proceeds to support the animals, many of which have been rescued from the cruel pet trade.
On the 3rd, 10th and 17th December, there are special late-night shopping evenings from 6-8pm where you’ll receive a complimentary hot drink of your choice, mince pie and the chance to meet the owls. See the website for full details.
