What better way to spend time this festive season with family and friends, than to sit around a table and play a traditional board game? Such games are coming very much back into fashion, as a welcome alternative to computer games, and an array of popular games and puzzles are available at Forget Me Not, at 70 Upper St James Street, Newport.

Run by Clara Kureen for the past 14 years, in partnership with her son Alexander, Forget Me Not offers a choice of such firm favourites, including Snakes and Ladders, Monopoly, Scrabble and Cluedo, as well dominoes, chess and draught sets and card games.

Forget Me Not also stocks an excellent selection of art materials, from brushes and paints to canvasses and a huge choice of paper, which would all make the perfect Christmas present for art-loving loved ones. They also stock stationery, with the shop open Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 5pm
