A grand total of over £7,000 was raised by the annual Christmas Charity Lunch hosted by Terry Willey at Haseley Manor on December 16, in support of Naomi House and Jack’s Place.
The popular festive fundraiser, in support of children with life-threatening illnesses, set the Christmas holiday season off in style.
It was a day filled with fine dining and unlimited wine, plus a lively programme of entertainment. Among those performing on an expenses-only basis were Kieron Cooney (bagpipes), Joanna Willey with Wight Notes Choir, Tony Minx and Dick Taylor, JC and his family Band and Vectis Brass Band. Topping the bill were Helena and Grant Mace from Bournemouth.
Excellent catering and service with fine food were provided by David and Raina Rogers, Emma McIntyre and the team from All About Catering.
Host Terry Willey said: “I remain eternally grateful to everyone who supported us to maintain this successful calendar event, and at the same time enable us to give support to such poorly children both on and off the Island at Christmas time.
“As we have said many times: ‘Don’t cry because it is over, but smile because it has happened.’”
