Husband and wife team Tom and Clare Beioley have taken over the St Helens restaurant that was formerly known as Dan’s Kitchen, and have rebranded it with a new name and excellent cuisine to suit all tastes.

Tom and Clare became the new owners of what is now ’33 St Helens’ in June with the emphasis on unpretentious fine dining. The couple have a wealth of experience, having both worked in catering for 15 years, and source as much local produce as possible, including freshly-caught fish, along with pheasant, cheeses and vegetables.

33 St Helens is open on Tuesday and Wednesday evening, and then for a lunch and dinner service on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. An a la carte menu is served throughout the week, with ‘specials’ also available at most times. Tom and Clare are also introducing Sunday roast dinners, starting early in the New Year.

Clare said: “As relative newcomers to the Isle of Wight, we make sure we work closely with our suppliers to make varied, interesting and tasty dishes from whatever happens to be the best on offer. All our suppliers are very helpful in helping us to choose the very best produce.

“Since opening we have taken a fairly soft approach, hoping people will come and find us, and enjoy what they see and what we can offer.”

33 St Helens is open from 6pm to 9pm evenings, with lunchtime dining from 12 noon to 2pm, and can be found at Lower Green Road, St Helens. Tel: (01983) 872303.
